As a Trainee Groups, Conference and Events for the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam you will be responsible, together with the Groups, Conferences & Events team, for selling our meeting rooms and hotel rooms for groups of 9 persons or more and the further administration of the reservations. You will also be part of the organizing process of events in the hotels.
What will I be doing?
As a Trainee Group,Conference & Events you are part of the Commercial team, which works together with the National Sales team and is responsible for increasing the revenue in our hotels. In this internship you will learn what is important for selling rooms and meeting rooms and optimize revenue. You will be responsible for the whole booking process, from inquiry to the actual stay.
- Supporting the department in organizing events
- Making function sheets to satisfy all needs of our guests
- Communicate with all departments involved (Front Office, Food & Beverage and Kitchen)
- Selling meeting rooms, guest rooms and additional services to potential guests
- Making offer letters for guests
- Process all information needed in systems of Hilton for good follow up in the hotels
- Be present at events or guest meetings when necessary
- After sales when the event is completed to ensure Guest Satisfaction
- Student currently studying a MBO/HBO education, preferably Hotelschool (internship must be part of current education.)
- Traineeship: a minimum period of 6 months.
- Fluency in the Dutch and English language
