Our international partner is looking for a Senior Accountant - Indirect Tax Accounting to join their finance team in Amsterdam. In this role, you'll take ownership of the operational VAT compliance process across multiple jurisdictions where the company is registered. You'll ensure timely and accurate VAT filings, manage reconciliations, and maintain compliance with local regulations and internal controls. Beyond compliance, you'll play a key role in month‑end closings, support audits, and provide insights that influence financial decision‑making. Key Responsibilities VAT Compliance & Accounting- Manage the operational VAT compliance process, ensuring accurate filings and timely payments.
- Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and reporting schedules.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and regulatory filings.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Highlight issues and recommend process improvements where possible.
- Proactively support SOX, tax, statutory, and statistical filings.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and inquiries.
- Act as a subject matter expert for indirect tax accounting topics.
- Extensive operational VAT experience.
- Hands‑on mentality with strong ownership and accountability.

- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Experience with SAP S4/HANA and Google tools is a plus.
