In this role you are responsible for the proper maintenance of all technical installations, tools and utilities and optimise all mechanical maintenance activities.
You focus on two main areas, being preventive and curative maintenance
Preventive Maintenance
- Installing, maintaining and repairing faulty mechanical systems, assemblies and parts.
- Diagnosing and repairing faulty equipment.
- Replacing faulty equipment and worn parts.
- Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and programs.
- Drafting and optimising the (preventative) mechanic plan with Mechanical Section Supervisor, to ensure that all installations remain operational.
- Preventing the occurrence of future mechanical problems, by performing scheduled maintenance, in line with the maintenance plan.
- Performing daily check-ups to make sure that all machines work correctly and to minimise the downtime of the production lines.
- Checking the mechanical part of machinery and equipment (e.g. motors, compressors, pumps and filters).
Curative Maintenance
- Looking for a quick solution for machine breakdowns to minimise production downtimes.
- Taking actions to remedy the quick fix for a sustainable situation and following up actions to provide quick solutions.
- Reading technical drawings, manuals and machine instructions.
- Locating the root cause of the problem by examining the machine and determining the best repair method.
