What you'll be doing
Your exact tasks as logistical worker at UPS depend on which department you will be joining. For example you could be working at Inbound, Outbound, Orderpicking or Warehouse operations.
Your working activities will look something like:
- Receiving, checking, and processing incoming goods
- Picking and preparing orders for shipment
- Scanning and registering products using a handheld scanner
- Sorting, packing, and repacking goods
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Performing inventory management and logistical administrative tasks
In the UPS warehouse, you will work with a wide range of products, including medical supplies, high-tech goods, and consumer items. It is important that you work according to the safety and quality guidelines. Depending on the department, you will work in a standard warehouse environment or a temperature-controlled area. To be able to work safely you will get the right protective clothing and instructions.
