Application Engineer | English

In this role, you will report to the Engineering Team Leader and a Senior Application Engineer based in the European office. You will work closely with clients to understand their technical requirements and translate them into precise engineering specifications. Acting as the main technical contact for complex quotations and projects, you will bridge the gap between customers, sales teams, and the engineering department.

Our client designs and supplies high-quality valves for a variety of industries. With evolving demands in markets such as LNG, ammonia, and hydrogen production, storage, and supply, there is a continuous need for robust valves that meet international standards. In this role, you will gain knowledge of global design standards (API, ISO, DIN, etc.) and testing procedures, including high-pressure, impact, and leakage tests, as well as the requirements of major classification societies (ABS, DNV GL, LR, etc.). You will also learn about the different materials used in valve production, their mechanical and chemical properties, and their applications.

Using your engineering expertise, you will act as a link between clients, sales teams, and engineering support. You will manage custom projects and respond to technical questions and clarifications from all stakeholders, including clients, sales, operations, and production. You may also oversee testing activities and troubleshoot product-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support for the sales team, addressing technical questions and requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external sales teams on custom and specialized products.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including Bills of Design (BOD) and Bills of Material (BOM).
• Assist with engineering designs and drawings for tailored solutions in coordination with the engineering team.
• Manage custom projects and liaise with the engineering department regarding design and product specifications.
• Support field commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting as needed.

RequirementsWe are seeking an enthusiastic early-career engineer who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities across multiple teams and projects.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Energy, Flow, or Process Technology preferred).
• Familiarity with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong attention to detail and meticulous approach to work.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) for client training or field support.
• Comfortable communicating with clients online or in person when needed.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch or other European languages is a plus.
