Here you work
As an independent research organization, TNO bridges the gap between the university world and companies. We translate research results into clear applications and solutions. This way we solve the problems of the day after tomorrow. With us you have the time to think longer and quieter about situations. And is a project completed? Then we resume our journey of discovery into tools, gadgets and advice that Dutch companies and organizations will benefit from in the future. With some 3,000 employees, we work for various clients within nine different domains: governments, SMEs, social organizations, large companies and service providers.
Unmanned and autonomous systems can no longer be ignored from our society. Drones, robots, self-driving cars, smart factories, intelligent sensor networks, smart grids and so on. The Distributed Sensor Systems department conducts research into the underlying technology of these types of systems. With practical demonstrators and prototypes, we help customers to develop new products and solve social issues. Our automation makes it possible, for example, that navy vessels can also sail with smaller crews. That unmanned systems can be used together as a swarm. Or that buildings and data centres themselves learn where they can save energy. Our over forty professionals work closely with government, industrial partners and universities.
