With 2B+ consumers coming online and over 50B connected devices, there is a massively growing demand for always-on connected devices. Consumers are also putting ever more pressure on wireless communications systems in terms of performance and reliability. For example we don't want our mobile signal to drop out in the middle of a call, or struggle with a slow internet connection, or have to wait to find a GPS signal when travelling. Many of today's devices are addressing these challenges by moving to Active Antenna Systems, with their ability to handle multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) requirements. However this adds even more complexity to the RF front-end, in addition to the ever shrinking available footprint. And many existing solutions lead to too much compromise when it comes to getting the right balance of performance, reliability, flexibility, integration ease and cost-of-ownership. In the Business Line Smart Antenna Solutions, products are made which secure receive and transmit signal integrity. Products are IC components placed between the antenna and the central connectivity SoC ICs in the customer application. The product range today targets mobile consumer handset applications on WLAN, LTE and GPS, and also includes Infrastructure base station products like LNA's and Medium Power amplifiers. The Senior Principle RF System architect has the overview on product families within a Business Line SAS product segment. The Senior Principal RF System architect owns the set of customer requirements and design steering product requirements for this product segment in the Business Line and drives system verifications. The RF System architect secures consistency between product and technology roadmaps.


  • Excellent capabilities to define, specify and guide the implementation of High performing RF/Analog ICs. The RF system architect captures the Customer requirements and translates them into design parameters

  • Excellent skills working in multisite and multidisciplinary projects (system and architecture, design, test, package development, characterization, project management, industrialization)

  • Road mapping skills, interacting directly with end customers doing requirements and use case analysis. Skilled to drive product roadmap and translate into product and architecture proposals

  • Excellent skills to drive technology roadmaps, both w.r.t. IC manufacturing as well as package/assembly and production testing supporting the manufacturability of the BL products. The RF system architect secures the consistency between product and technology roadmaps for a product segment

  • Coaching skills steering the design/implementation team and industrialization team to Best in Class solutions

  • Capability to challenge RF IC design teams based on RF circuit design and implementation knowhow
