We are looking for another Transport Planner for our client’s European head office in Weesp (close to Amsterdam).
As Transport Planner you ensure distribution and intercompany transport to go smoothly as part of the Production Control & Logistics department. With your knowledge and experience you work together to solve any irregularities by devising and arranging creative solutions in a timely manner in order to deliver excellent service with your team.

The offices in Weesp represents the regional headquarters for the European affiliated companies of the Corporation. The Production Control & Logistics department supplies products for car manufacturers, aftermarket and non-automotive segments. The team consists of two or three other Transport Planners, with a total of 10 direct colleagues.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
With your experience you are able to:
- devise and arrange creative solutions to problems,
- answer questions and find information by making use of spreadsheets and other systems,
- find the best solution, taking into account cost and time.
Tasks and activities you will be responsible for:
- Daily support for transport planning and transport operation issues.
- Contacts with freight forwarders, logistics service providers and the European production companies.
- Solving irregularities in daily/weekly route planning.
- Setting up the daily/weekly planning of the transportation network.
- Registering and reporting Key Performance Indicators.
- Conducting negotiations with external parties, including the company’s production companies.
PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS
Your skillset:
- Ability to work independently, whilst being a good team player.
- Practical problem solving abilities with an adaptive, proactive attitude.
- Experience in a similar position at an International (automotive) organization.
Further job requirements:
The right candidate shows the necessary leadership potential and has the following qualifications and characteristics:
- A good fit for the team and the company.
- Good analytical, communication and leadership skills.
- Bachelor (HBO) level working capacity (or higher).
- Basic knowledge of the European regulations regarding transport.
- Experience in working with spreadsheets and databases (Excel, Access, etc.).
- Logistics and/or Transport Planning experience (2-5 years).
- Bilingual (Dutch and English).
- Experience at an International Transport Company, in a Production/Purchasing environment or having worked at an International automotive organization is preferred.
Required language skills:
A high proficiency in spoken and written English is required, as this is a culturally diverse, international company. Knowledge of the Dutch language is nice to have as well, as your team members are Dutch/bilingual. An additional European language is an added benefit.

Salary and additional benefits:
- Compensation depending on level of education, relevance of experience and final job classification.
- Salary range: € 3.200-3.800 gross per month, excl. benefits
