As the Senior Category Manager, you will implement and run the strategic procurement for technical goods and services to shape category procurement in a new global specialty materials company. Next to that, you will be leading a team of category and contract managers.
Every day you will drive sustainable value and cost reductions, as well as partner with strategic suppliers through intelligent sourcing strategies with firm commitment on safety, quality and reliability for the business.
Running truly global projects, you will have direct impact on the organization by developing strategic plans and align with senior stakeholders across the globe. To thrive in this role, you must have deep understanding of the technical goods and services of indirect procurement industry as well as ability to connect with stakeholders on all levels.
The key responsibilities
- Lead the creation and implementation of technical goods and services category strategies based on a deep understanding of the category and market;
- Lead a global team of Category and Contract Managers;
- Develop category strategies for his/her categories and provide input to Global Director Indirect Procurement when developing the overall indirect procurement strategy;
- Be a strong liaison between Business Group Stakeholders (Site Directors, Maintenance Managers, Plant Managers etc.) and Lead Buyers and Category Managers globally;
- Key account management for key suppliers. Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers and track their performance (Supplier Development & Key Supplier Management).
